There are usually hidden calories in the foods that are packaged and this is why some experts say that you need to add ten percent to the number of calories you think you're taking in. This is also because not everybody reads labels carefully like they are supposed to. Some foods in packages and cans claim to contain two or more servings, which means that if you eat the whole thing, you have to multiply the number of calories "per serving" by the number of servings you consumed. Individuals who eat snacks throughout the day aren't as likely to pay attention to all of the extra calories that they are consuming. If you are on a diet then you need to pay attention to how much you are honestly eating.

Celebrity diets and exercise videos are all over the place and some of them are really popular. You can give them a try if you are interested in that but you should always be cautious before letting yourself believe that some celebrity has all of the answers that you are looking for. Celebrities are, for the most part, thin but that doesn't necessarily mean that thin is optimal for your health. Some go on extreme diets to lose weight for movie roles. Some of them have very serious problems like drug habits and eating disorders. This doesn't mean that you can't trust these celebrities; only that you should not decide that simply because a person is thin and has a book deal that they are trustworthy.

In summary, your approach to your diet is almost always as important as the diet itself. It really helps to have realistic expectations so that you are less likely to become a victim of one of the pervading myths that surround dieting. This can help you avoid fad diets that don't work, and to stick to a good diet when you find one.
